4 Steps for Resetting Your Life in 2023

December 16, 2022

< back to blog home

As the year 2022 comes to a close, many of us are thinking about the changes we want to make in the coming year. One common resolution is to reset our lives and make positive changes. In this blog post, we’ll explore four steps that can help you reset your life in 2023.

Step #1: Finding Balance in Your Life/ Wheel of Life Exercise

One of the key things to consider when resetting your life is finding balance. This can be difficult, as our lives are often pulled in many different directions by work, family, friends, and other obligations.

One way to start finding balance is to do the “Wheel of Life” exercise. This exercise involves visualizing your life as a wheel, with different areas such as career, relationships, health, and personal growth represented by different sections of the wheel. Then, take a moment to reflect on how balanced each area of your life is, and consider what changes you might need to make to bring more balance to your life.

Step #2: Revisit Your Values or Identify Your Values

Another important step in resetting your life is to revisit your values or identify your values if you haven’t already done so. Your values are the things that are most important to you, and they can help guide your decisions and actions.

Take some time to think about what your values are, and consider how they align with the different areas of your life. If there are any areas of your life where your values aren’t being fully expressed, consider what changes you can make to align with your values more fully.

Step #3: Reflect on This Previous Year

Before you can move forward and make positive changes in your life, it’s important to take a moment to reflect on the previous year. Think about the things that went well, and the things that didn’t go as well as you had hoped.

Consider what you learned from these experiences, and how you can use that knowledge to make better decisions and take positive action in the coming year.

Step #4 Think About Your Avoidances

Finally, as you reset your life in 2023, it’s important to think about the things you tend to avoid. These might be difficult conversations, challenging tasks, or situations that make you feel uncomfortable.

Taking a moment to reflect on your avoidances can help you identify any patterns or underlying issues that might be holding you back. Once you have a better understanding of your avoidances, you can start to develop strategies for facing them and moving past them, which can help you make positive changes in your life.

In conclusion, resetting your life in 2023 can be a challenging but a rewarding process. By finding balance, revisiting your values, reflecting on the previous year, and thinking about your avoidances, you can set yourself up for success and make positive changes in the coming year. So, take the first step today and start working towards a happier, more balanced life in 2023.
