When it comes to self-care, it’s important you take part in the practice of it. You don’t need to buy the expensive essential oils or lotions, you simply need to ensure you are taking time for yourself. If you are looking to buy some products to help your self-care journey, I am sharing 10 of my favorite therapist-recommended must haves! The best part – almost all can be shopped and shipped directly to your door through Amazon. My hope is that you enjoy these self-care favorites as much as I do!
Must Have #1 White Glass Tumbler
This is one of my favorite tumblers! I specifically use it to sip on my favorite drinks, like passion tea with lemonade! The glass tumbler comes in a bunch of different colors, so it truly can fit anybody’s aesthetic. The best part is that it’s less than $20. I call that a staple!
Must Have #2 The Five Minute Journal
If you buy just one item from this list, let it be this one! It is hands down one of my absolute favorite items that I use daily. Yes, daily! This journal is not overwhelming in the slightest. It helps you practice presence by asking you prompts such as “what are you grateful for,” “what would make your day great,” as well as daily affirmations. It also has a night section allowing you to reflect on the positives and lessons learned that day. I love a book that will look good in any setting – whether it’s on your bedside table or bookshelf. So I especially love that it comes in green, black, yellow, pink and a white neutral color. You can also download the app for free to get the exact same prompts if you prefer typing over handwritten notes.
Must Have #3 Puzzle
One of my main goals this year was to be more present. An unhealthy habit I adopted during the pandemic was spending way too much time on my phone. So any mindfulness activities I can find, including puzzles, allow me to put the phone aside. I remember growing up loving puzzles! It’s a great way to go back to your inner child and pass time with a loved one. This puzzle is less than $10 and once your done you can always share the love with a friend.
Must Have #4 Word Search
Another item that I love recommending to clients who want to spend less time on their phone is this Word Search. I like this one specifically because it has sections for easy, hard, difficult, etc. Depending on my mood in terms of challenges, I can pick which one I want to try and it usually can help me stay present.
Must Have #5 Book: Set Boundaries Find Peace Book
Whether you like to read or not, I recommend this book to everyone! If you’re not already following Nedra on Instagram, you need to! This book dives into boundary setting. The author put years of knowledge into an easy digestible book. Every chapter has a mini exercise you can use to set more boundaries in your life. I personally like how she categories each boundary into different chapters from work, family, etc.
Must Have #6 Bathtub Caddy
I love a good bubble bath after a stressful day. It’s an excellent way to unwind! I’ve used this bathtub caddy for a year now and it’s been holding up great. It has different compartments for everything you could possibly need – from wine, a book, or even an iPad.
Must Have #7 Face & Eye Roller
There is no better release than a cry session but the puffy or baggy eyes are no fun! For all my sensitive ladies, this face and eye roller is your solution! The roller is super gentle and it feels so good. When your having a day where you need some TLC, this is the self-care item for you!
Must Have #8 Eye Mask
Now this is another item I love dearly! This eye mask is perfect for all my work from home ladies who are often staring at a computer screen all day. We have to let our eyes rest after a long day! This eye mask comes in different colors and is less than $10. What a steal!
Must Have #9 Kindle
This self-care item is definitely an investment. But it is one of those investments that you cannot possibly regret. Like I said, with the pandemic, I found myself constantly scrolling through Instagram and Tiktok. I was craving more activities that would actually stimulate my mind and make me feel more present. My husband and I decided to purchase a Kindle which has ultimately led to less clutter in my home! I love to read, especially personal development books (link books you need to read YouTube video here) but I found myself always buying hard copies. With my Kindle, now I don’t have to! Currently I am reading all of Colleen Hoover’s books and I’ve honestly been loving every single book.
Must Have #10 Art Therapy Coloring Book
This book speaks for itself! How often do you allow yourself to just sit and color in the lines like we used to do in kindergarten? Probably not often enough! I like how therapeutic this practice feels for me.
These are my top 10 favorite therapist recommended items you can purchase on amazon! I’d love to hear what your favorite items are when it comes to treating yourself! Also let me know if you plan to try out any of the items I’ve listed! I’d love to hear from you!
