It’s a New Year and you’re ready to hit all your goals and make some serious changes… But then choo-choo! Here comes the self-sabotage train to eff it all up. We’ve all been there, whether we want to admit it or not. At some point in your life, you’ve self-sabotaged and your goals went unmet.
Perhaps instead of getting your workload done a full day early so you could take Friday off, you chose to scroll through Instagram pushing your deadlines. If it makes you feel better, we all self-sabotage to some degree. Yet, no one is out here sharing their self-sabotage stories on social media. It can be difficult to overcome our own “shit”.
In today’s episode, I share:
- What Self Sabotaging Is
- What is Self-Sabtaging Behavior
- Signs and behaviors that indicate you’re self-sabotaging (hello procrastination and overworking!)
- A few causes of self-sabotaging behavior (aka why the f do I do this!?)
- 5 ways to start making changes to self-sabotaging behavior
Self-sabotage is your brain’s way of trying to protect you from emotional pain. If it’s no longer serving you, there are lots of options available to begin to change things. We all act in ways that confirm the stories we tell about ourselves. If you have internalized negative stories about yourself, it’s natural to try to minimize future pain and discomfort.
If you’d like further support after listening to the episode, I am opening up spots for mental health coaching. This is where I can help you create a shift in your self-sabotage behaviors. You can book a free consultation below!
