The Monthly Reset Routine That Prioritizes Your Mental Health

It’s so easy to live our lives day by day, week by week and month by month without actually taking note of the progress we are making and the habits we are forming. One of the best ways to prioritize monthly goals, introduce reflection time into your routine, and simply allow yourself to feel more present is by conducting a monthly reset! This guide will allow you to feel grateful for what you’ve accomplished and what you are welcoming in the new month. Here is what I’ve found to work best!

#1: Review past month goals

Setting goals gives you long-term vision and short-term motivation. When setting goals, it’s so important to carve out time to also reflect! Each month I write out goals in four specific categories. 

  • Personal
  • Business/Career
  • Financial
  • Health/Fitness

These goals should be specific and measurable so you can take accountability at the end of the month!

#2 Reflect on the previous month

Take a moment to reflect on your previous month before you set new goals. Reflecting on your actions and attitudes is one of the most effective ways to identify areas where you need to change, recognize places where you’ve grown and keep you moving forward to achieve your personal growth goals.

#3 Set new goals for next month 

Using your reflection time as a motivator, set your goals for the next month ahead! Feel free to create your own categories for your goals to fall under. Once again, I create goals for these areas of my life:

  • Personal
  • Business/Career
  • Financial
  • Health/Fitness

#4 Create a month vision board on Canva or Pinterest

There are so many different learning styles out there! Perhaps you work best writing out your goals or perhaps you need a visual. No matter how you learn, creating a vision board is bound to strike your creativity. Each month I make a new board on Pinterest. Bonus points if you make this vision board your screen background so you see it every day!
